Zeitgeist dari bahasa Jerman secara harafiah artinya adalah time spirit (jiwa dari suatu waktu). Namun Google memberi makna agak berbeda yaitu the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era. (intelektual, moral dan kultur umum pada suatu era).
